The “Winner Winner” of our Christmas Dinner campaign is…
Homelessness in Manchester was higher than any other local authority in England and Wales in 2017, with over 123 people being faced with hunger over 2018’s Christmas period. Across the city, many don’t have access to regular hot meals each day, a warm place to sleep or good sanitation – let alone a Christmas dinner.
This year, we chose to support the homeless community in Manchester with our Christmas Dinner campaign. We donated £5 on behalf of everyone on our Christmas card list to a local homeless charity, helping to provide festive meals, hot drinks and conversation during this often lonely time.
In total we donated £1,895 to Not Just Soup – an initiative created to reduce hunger in Manchester’s homeless population by providing meals to the less fortunate with food from some of the city’s biggest restaurants.
Sam Jones, MD of Tunafish Media and Founder of Not Just Soup said: “It’s been good to have Apadmi on board with the initiative. Over the last few years, Not Just Soup has brought together some of Manchester’s leading food providers and industry professionals – Apadmi’s donation will help us to keep this going, and we’re keen to get them involved in some of our food nights across the year.”
We also gave our recipients the chance to win a meal themselves – by sharing a snap of their scratch-card bauble on social media, they entered into a bonus prize draw to win a meal for two at the Ivy, Manchester.
